PGP Health is a Melbourne-based company that develops medical compression garments using high textile fabrics. These products are novel as they lift and compress the lower gastrointestinal tract to improve gut health and promote better posture. This is the world’s first compression product specifically to help with gut and improve back issues at the same time.
PGP Health’s premier product is the VC1 (vest compression 1), created following years of research and development that saw over 80 prototypes using different fabrics. The VC1 is a wearable vest that uses a series of panels to target both the abdominal and back of the wearer to lift and compress the lower gastrointestinal tract, supporting the underlying physiology. The lift and compression provided by the panels reduces back pain and improves the function of the gastrointestinal track without invasive procedure, medication, or surgery.
The VC1 is patented under international protections laws including design, panel positioning and the method of use.

PGP Health uses Liquid Titanium fabric to enhance the body’s ability to heal. This fabric was selected after extensive testing, which included trialling over 80 other types of fabric.
Liquid titanium itself has many therapeutic benefits when used as it absorbs and holds Far Infrared (FIR) to a greater degree than other materials. Studies conducted on FIR have found it beneficial to the treatment of chronic diseases such as high blood pressure and rheumatoid arthritis, though further testing is required to provide conclusive evidence of FIR’s benefits.
In addition, wearing a garment made from liquid titanium fabric may result in the body warming in the area covered by the garment as FIR is able to penetrate the skin and convert to radiant heat. This warming causes water particles in the blood to resonate, increasing the water hydration capacity in blood vessels and improving circulation. The use of liquid titanium fabric in garments may also increase the wearer’s metabolism.
VC1 uses liquid titanium fabric in combination with PGP Health’s patented compression panelling to achieve a reduction in symptoms associated with poor gastrointestinal health and posture. The lift and compression moves and supports the body’s underlying physiology into its correct position while the liquid titanium aids in the movement of fluid around the body, increasing circulation and preventing build-up.

PGP Health has taken this knowledge and used it to create advanced, medical-grade compression products to directly benefit those experiencing pain and discomfort in their gastrointestinal tract and back.
Testing on the VC1 demonstrated its benefits, with volunteers reporting improvements in gastrointestinal health and posture as well as reduced back pain and weight loss. Further testing is being conducted to understand how VC1 could reduce post-pregnancy discomfort, and aid in wound recovery post-surgery. Initial tests and case studies suggest the benefits of VC1 could extend beyond what is currently known.
Since developing VC1, PGP Health have created a second product designed for athletes to support strength and endurance training – SPV. This vest is designed to enhance sports performance by using its compression technology to aid in muscle recovery, restore lactic acid levels, and increase metabolic rate.
While the compression technology in VC1 and SPV are beneficial to most, these products should not be worn by children, during pregnancy, or by those who experience difficulty breathing.
